The Slow Down Lockdown Part 2: Housing

September 11, 2020

In this (late) lockdown episode, Anabel and Dom get Dani and Josh on the pod to talk about ACORN community union and issues around housing both in general and over lockdown. We recorded this back in May so please enjoy the peak of lockdown bunker mentality. To find out more about ACORN’s Housing is Health campaign, go to: acorntheunion.org.uk/housingishealth

Episode update: We were devastated to hear of the passing of Josh on 19 September, not long after this episode came out. He was a truly wonderful and inspiring comrade and friend and will be remembered not only for the incredible person he was, but also for his tireless contributions to the struggle. It was an honour to have him on and we’re so glad that he had the opportunity to share the work he was doing at ACORN Manchester. Our hearts go out to his family and close friends for this difficult loss that'll no doubt resonate for a long time. We know his words and insights will provide inspiration and motivation for organisers for years to come.

The Slow Down Lockdown Part 1: Work

April 14, 2020

It’s part 1 of The Slow Down coronavirus pandemic edition! Dom and Anabel check in on each other from their bunkers, run through some updates on workplace organising that’s gone down so far during the lockdown, and give their unscientific tips on How to Stay Sane during social isolation. We’re still sorting out remote recording so apologies in advance for the quality of the audio, we will have it sorted by next episode.
